FINALLY! The biggest slump in Philadelphia, since the 1964 Phillies, has ended! A reply has arrived. Please don't look at this as if I have been slacking big time in my requests. I have not. I am still trying to get out 10-12 a week. In the old days, my longtime readers know I used to get 6-8 a day, EVERYDAY, but that when I was send out 10-12 a day. I got to blame three things for the slump - (1) I have run out of people to write to over and over again,as I have sent over 4000 requests in the last 3 years!I am going to try to get everything in order so I can figure out where the holes in my collection are, by going through old team rosters; (2) This time of the year is tough, because football, hoops, and hockey isn't it session; and baseball guys are getting worn down by the season and (3) I have been so busy with work, family, kids and the Phils... but unfortunatetly it's mostly work.
Anyway-
BIG MATT W, my boy at PENN, hooked me up with Garry Maddox on my Phightin Phils photo. That leaves me 2, Keith Moreland and Manny Trillo. Both guys have signed for me in the past. Trillo has been automatics ttm but it just takes a while. As far as Moreland, I am 1 for 5 with him. Trillo is my next target and I am trying to get in touch with him prior to sending, to assure that my photo is signed and returned promptly. I predict I will have this done by Christmas. We'll see.
